OUR ROOTS
Parsi da Dhaba was established on 3rd May 2009, by our founders Urvaksh and Amy Hoyvoy. Passionate about Parsi food cooked in the home kitchen, with a desire to present this robust, rustic & hearty cuisine to the world. With that desire the dhaba on NH8 was born.
Parsi food is very unique, having its roots in Persia. There are many techniques and styles that are very middle eastern and after coming to India all the spices found their way into Parsi recipe books. Parsi’s assimilated into India's culture in the best possible way, the food way. Parsi da Dhaba is a mile stone in Parsi cuisine, following strict recipes kept within the ‘very fond of cooking and eating’ family. The endeavor has been, that when you eat our food you feel you are in our home with us, sharing laughter, love and great food.
Why the name Parsi da Dhaba? It is unusual and quirky. Dhaba's first came up along highways and up North, on the Grand Trunk Road courageous happy Sardars made them famous. We believe that in every Parsi there is a little bit of a sardar and as the renowned Chef of ITC Sheraton once said, fancy walls and opulent furniture have nothing to do with great food.
We believe it is in home kitchens & the dhaba's where great recipes are born.
